It is published by the Teaching, Research, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Institute of the Hospital de Clínicas de Itajubá.</p>https://portalrcs.hcitajuba.org.br/index.php/rcsfmit_zero/article/view/1480Adherence to treatment in patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis2024-03-27T09:47:40-03:00Angélica de Cássia Bitencourtangelicacbitencourt@gmail.comSandra Marina dos Reissandra.utineo@gmail.com<p><strong>Objective</strong>: To identify the adherence to therapeutic regimens in patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis (HD). <strong>Method</strong>: This is a descriptive, cross-sectional study using a quantitative approach developed at an HD center in the south of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The study participants were 51 patients undergoing HD. Personal, socioeconomic, and objective data were collected, and the End-Stage Renal Disease Adherence Questionnaire (ESRD-AQ) was applied. The analysis was performed using simple descriptive statistics. <strong>Result</strong>: The average age was 56.7 years, and 58% of the patients were male. The percentages of non-adherence were diet (35.4%), hemodialysis (21.6%), fluid intake (15.7%), and medication (13.7%). <strong>Conclusion</strong>: Therapeutic adherence is a complex process that requires constant monitoring by a multidisciplinary team.</p>2024-03-27T00:00:00-03:00Copyright (c) 2024 Angélica de Cássia Bitencourt, Sandra Marina dos Reis
