Abstract

Pleomorphic adenoma (AP) is the most common benign tumor among salivary gland neoplasms. Three-dimensional reconstruction software offers tools to characterize the lesion, allowing to evaluate the morphology of the disease, analyze isolated anatomical structures, and increase the accuracy of the treatment. The objective of this article is to demonstrate how the use of three-dimensional reconstruction has the potential to contribute to the elucidation of the morphology of the disease, leading health professionals to carry out an accurate and effective treatment through diagnosis, and preoperative virtual planning. It is presented a case of a 37-year-old man with a palatal pleomorphic adenoma without pain complaints. Not only was the disease morphology studied, but the lesion volume was calculated, measuring 2,304 mm3. The volume of the disease acted as a marker that made it possible to assess the extent of the lesion and the involvement of the adjacent regions.
